What Can a Client Editor Change?

Dreamfox Client Edit Mode uses plain terms instead of technical block attributes. Per page you decide whether a Client Editor may change three things.

The three permissions

Each permission is either allowed or not allowed per page. You can set the Page defaults on the page's Permissions screen.

Per-user overrides

Two clients can be assigned to the same page with different rights. In Per-user overrides, choose for each Client Editor and each category:

• Page default — follow the page setting.
• Allow — allow it for this user even if the page default does not.
• Deny — block it for this user even if the page default allows it.

What is always locked

Some things can never be changed by a Client Editor, whatever the permissions:

• Adding, removing, moving or converting elements
• Styling: colors, typography and spacing
• Page structure and templates
• Anything outside their assigned pages, including creating or deleting posts

If a client tries one of these, the save is rejected with a clear message and recorded in the activity log.

Where the rules are enforced

The editor is locked down for the Client Editor role, but the real protection runs on the server on every save. Even a hand-crafted request with a client's credentials cannot bypass it. See Frequently Asked Questions.
