Troubleshooting: Quick Edit Not Saving Gateway Assignments

Fix issues where gateway assignments made via WooCommerce Quick Edit don't save or apply correctly.

Troubleshooting: Quick Edit Not Saving Gateway Assignments

The plugin adds a Payment Gateways field to the WooCommerce Quick Edit panel so you can update multiple products at once without opening each one individually. If changes made in Quick Edit don't seem to stick, here's what to check.

How Quick Edit works for gateway rules

In Products → All Products, hover over a product row and click Quick Edit. The expanded panel includes the Payment Gateways selection. Make your changes and click Update.

Common issues

Changes not persisting after refresh

This is usually a caching issue. After saving a Quick Edit change, your admin or frontend cache may still be serving old data.

  • Clear your caching plugin's cache.
  • Hard-refresh the product list page (Ctrl+Shift+R / Cmd+Shift+R).
  • Open the full product editor to confirm the gateway selection was actually saved.

Quick Edit panel doesn't show the Payment Gateways field

Some admin customization plugins or themes modify the product list columns and can cause custom Quick Edit fields to not render.

  • Temporarily switch to the default WordPress admin theme and test.
  • Disable admin customization plugins and test again.

Changes appear saved but checkout still shows all gateways

This is the same issue as described in Troubleshooting: All Gateways Still Showing After Setting Rules — most likely a frontend cache problem. Clear your full-page cache and test in an incognito window.

Bulk updates vs. Quick Edit

Quick Edit updates one product at a time. If you need to apply the same gateway rule to dozens of products, consider using category-based rules (Premium) instead — assign the rule once to a category and it applies to every product in it automatically.
