Troubleshooting: Plugin Conflicts with Other WooCommerce Extensions

Identify and resolve conflicts between Payment Gateway Per Product and other WooCommerce or checkout plugins.

Troubleshooting: Plugin Conflicts with Other WooCommerce Extensions

Payment Gateway Per Product works by filtering the woocommerce_available_payment_gateways hook. Other plugins that hook into the same filter can cause unexpected behavior — either overriding your rules or being overridden by them.

Plugins most likely to conflict

  • Other checkout customizers (Checkout Field Editor, WooCommerce Checkout Manager, etc.)
  • Other conditional payment plugins (any plugin that shows/hides gateways based on cart content, user role, or geography)
  • Security and firewall plugins that block or modify AJAX requests on the checkout page
  • Caching and optimization plugins that minify or defer JavaScript on checkout
  • Theme-bundled WooCommerce extensions that modify the checkout flow

How to identify the conflict

  1. Switch your theme to Storefront (the default WooCommerce theme) and test checkout. This rules out theme-level interference.
  2. Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins and deactivate all plugins except WooCommerce and Payment Gateway Per Product.
  3. Test checkout — your rules should now work correctly.
  4. Re-activate plugins one at a time, testing checkout after each activation.
  5. The plugin that breaks the rules when re-activated is the conflict.

Reporting a conflict

Once you've identified the conflicting plugin, open a support ticket at dreamfoxmedia.com/support. Include:

  • The name and version of the conflicting plugin
  • Your WooCommerce version and WordPress version
  • A brief description of what breaks (e.g., "all gateways show", "no gateways show")
  • A screenshot of your checkout page

The Dreamfox Media team will investigate and, where possible, add compatibility code in a future update.
