Free vs. Premium: What's Included in Each Version

Payment Gateway Per Product comes in two tiers. Here's exactly what you get in each, so you can decide whether the free version covers your needs or whether premium is worth it for your store.

Free version

Available on WordPress.org, the free version gives you:

  • Per-product payment gateway rules — assign allowed gateways on individual product edit screens.
  • Default WooCommerce fallback — when no rule matches, the standard WooCommerce gateways are shown.

This is sufficient for simple stores with a small catalog where the only requirement is restricting a few products to specific payment methods.

Premium version (€29.95/year per site)

The premium version adds everything on top of the free feature set:

Feature Free Premium
Per-product gateway rules ✓ ✓
Default fallback ✓ ✓
Category-based rules — ✓
Tag-based rules — ✓
Include / Exclude logic — ✓
Flexible fallback options — ✓
Advanced checkout optimization — ✓
Priority support — ✓

Category-based rules let you assign gateways to an entire product category instead of editing products one by one — a huge time-saver for large catalogs.

Tag-based rules work the same way but use WooCommerce product tags, which is useful when products belong to multiple categories and need fine-grained control.

Include / Exclude logic lets you define whether a rule means "only show these gateways" or "show everything except these gateways" — giving you more flexibility without creating extra rules.

Flexible fallback options let you choose between showing no payment methods at all (useful if you want to block checkout for unmatched products) or showing a specific default gateway.

Upgrading

You can start with the free version and upgrade at any time without losing your existing per-product rules. Purchase a license at dreamfoxmedia.com, install the premium plugin over the free one, and activate your license key.
