How Role Pricing Rules Work

You create pricing rules. A rule says: this role gets this adjustment.

Adjustment types

• A fixed price
• A percentage discount or a percentage markup
• A fixed amount discount or a fixed amount markup

Where rules can be set

Rules can be attached at different levels, and the plugin picks the most specific one that applies:

• For one customer (Premium)
• For one product, or one variation of a variable product (variations are Premium)
• For a category or tag (Premium)
• Global, for the whole store

The more specific a rule, the sooner it wins. A rule on a product beats a category rule, and a category rule beats a global rule.

The Guest role

Besides your WordPress roles there is a Guest pseudo-role. It targets visitors who are not logged in, so you can give them their own prices or hide prices from them.

Where the price shows

The role price is used on product pages, shop archives, search results, the cart, the checkout and order emails.
